Hello my friend, and welcome to your free Yule Oracle reading!
With the cold nip in the air and my colorful tree lit up bright, it‘s time to break out my seasonal tarot and oracle decks. I love connecting with my inner wisdom and magic by lighting some candles, and pulling cards. Activities like this make me feel close to my ancestors and at One with something larger than us.
For today's reading, we are using the Seasons of the Witch Yule Oracle deck by Lorriane Anderson and Juliet Diaz. I really enjoy the artwork, as well as the incantations on each card that you can use in spell work or repeat as affirmations.
A Collective Reading
Keep in mind as you read today's oracle messages that this is a collective reading. This means that it might speak to each person in a different way. Always take what resonates with you and leave the rest.
When tuning into the collective, I ask for guidance for the highest good of all. As always, my provided messages are delivered with compassion and the intention to support you in your journey. For this reading, I ask Spirit what we need to hear most right now.
Yule Message: Light
The Light card in this deck represents the very essence of Yule. This holiday is a celebration in the faith of the return of the light during the darkest part of the year.
Have you ever experienced feeling so freezing cold, that you felt like you'd never be warm again? Or maybe you've experienced being so hot, that you felt like you could never cool down? Sure enough, a balance always comes back around. Everything in nature is based around cycles. The Light card is a call to trust in this cycle, as well as trust in your knowing that things will get brighter.
Perhaps this message is in the literal sense of the season’s darkness and colder climate. Because of this, you naturally might experience lower energy levels, a lack of motivation, or seasonal depression. Physiologically, this happens because as mammals, we want to slow down and reserve our energy. Shorter days can feel frustrating, but it can help to focus on the return of the sun— as well as cultivate and nurture the light for ourselves, by looking to the little things for joy.
Or, perhaps this card resonates for you on a deeper level...
Maybe you're feeling run down, burnt out, or just generally ready to tap out of the chaos of the world. Now is a good time to focus on 'the light' at the end of the tunnel. How and when can you get some rest from it? Make it so. If this resonates, make sure you take a break soon to nurture your own inner light.
Maybe you have been feeling like things just aren't working out. Maybe you’re being down on yourself because of it. Spirit invites you to consider that it’s for the better that something didn’t align for you. What if you’re being redirected to something that will end up being better than what you'd originally set out for? The light means to look to hope. Everything is a process, and that takes time. Know in your heart that there is always tomorrow for things to work out.
And, the Light card reminds us that we never know what tomorrow holds; that this is in itself is a blessing. Give yourself the gift of being present in each moment.
When we spend less energy thinking about what could go wrong, we put ourselves through stress that is only theoretical. You’re burning energy that could be better spent when you’re trying to foresee every potential obstacle. What if instead, you lean into hopeful positive scenarios? When we have hope, our brain is programmed to pay attention to new positive opportunities that may have been missed if we were too wrapped up in worries.
We are called this season to do what feels right and makes us feel secure. Stick to what feels good. If an old tradition feels like an energy drain, find your own way and try something new. If there are people that make you feel badly or cross your boundaries, maintain a peaceful distance.
What light there is in these darker months, nurture it, and hold it close as the precious thing that it is.
“Hope is but a word, but a word casting the unseen. Let there be light where light is but a dream.”

Card one: What will help you proceed on your path in the colder, darker months?
Self Care (31)
Something that can seem like such an obvious answer to your questions can be one of the trickiest tasks to actually fulfill. The first thing most people think of when they hear 'self care' is usually rest, maybe a spa day, or getting a massage.
Self care can be getting to bed early, nourishing your body with whole foods, taking your medication or multivitamins consistently. It can also be pampering yourself. But let's think broader, because sometimes these forms of self care can leave us feeling like something is still missing.
For example, perhaps you have had a busy year, or maybe experienced lots of stress recently. Maybe you've had to keep it all together for too long now. To balance this, let yourself get messy. Get out some art supplies, and don't think, just do. Let any pent up or stagnant energy fall out of you through painting, writing, sculpting, singing, playing an instrument, or theatrics. Don't hold back. Find a healthy outlet for any frustration or pain within. As you create, you will notice your awareness of time passing slip away, bringing a new sense of peace.
Here's another example. Maybe you have done everything you thought would bring you balance and make you feel content, yet something is still off kilter. It could be that you need people. If you have been socially burnt out, consider that you haven't been around the right people. Perhaps now self care means going to some community events or joining a group, where you can meet kindred spirits. If work has you wanting to hermit, reach out to a good friend or beloved family member for time to connect at a deeper level.
If you feel like you don't have the energy to draw upon for self care, let someone take care of you instead. For many people, this can be a challenging or intimidating thing to ask. But we can't all be balanced and perfect all the time. It's not realistic. Self care could mean asking friends or family to help out with obligations and tasks. If you have someone close that you can reach out to, maybe ask them to cook you a meal or help you tidy up your home. People that care about you will be glad that you reached out for support.
For some of you, this self care card is a call to remind yourself just who you are. Maybe you've been feeling down on yourself, and have forgotten just how special you are. I see the Queen of Wands card in my mind, with her sensual, fiery energy, and I hear the Chappell Roan song, 'Hot To Go'. Perhaps self care for you means getting dolled up, feeling sexy, and going after pleasure. The queen doesn't even need a partner to have a good time. Make it a solo date night and give all of your love to you.
However this Spirit message speaks to you, the whole point is to find balance between your mind, body, and spirit. Remember that if something feels off, it's giving you insight into what you might need, like a helpful compass.
Spirit calls you to prioritize in order to find balance for yourself. Remember that success starts with this very thing. Showing up for yourself matters, because you matter. Someone once said to me, 'Happiness isn't a state of mind, it's a discipline,' and that really stuck. Yes, there are times when we can't get to that state, and that is because our body, emotions, or mind are trying to tell us something is off balance. Staying in balance takes effort-- it means being there for yourself, and showing up as you would for a friend.
“If not me, then who? To tend to a wholeness, the parts in which surrender thy pulse for a heart that’s nearer than any other.”
Card two: What precious thing can you keep close to provide you with faith?
Ringing the Bells (30)
In this oracle deck, Ring the Bells represents banishing the negative and charging what empty space is left behind with positive energy and intentions. Doing so is especially important at this time of year, with all of the outings, parties, shopping, and busier public spaces we're venturing out to. When out and about, it's all to easy to accidentally carry home unwanted energies that then hang out with you in your space.
Spirit invites you to find a way to claim your space and your energy for yourself as something precious to be protected and maintained.
When bells are rung, the vibrations of its sound clears your aura or your space of said unwanted energies. The bells drive away malevolence, while simultaneously increases the potency of your positive intentions. You can get the same effect with your voice, singing bowls, chimes, clapping, etc. because most sound raises vibrations and wards away negative energy.
If sound doesn't call to you, then you could clear negative energy using smoke (sage, incense, juniper), crystals (selenite and black tourmeline or obsidian), or by visualizing white light (as a bubble surrounding your entire body, and/or filling your entire space). Once this is complete, you will then need to fill the space with positive energy, whether you say a prayer, visualize a color filling your aura/space, invoke your ancestors/Spirit Team, or burn Palo Santo.
The following is true for only some that chose this pile: You might find that clearing the energy in your aura and space is not enough to maintain that precious balace. If something still feels off, consider that something outside of yourself is effecting your balance. Sometimes, relationships, obligations, desires, projects, etc. start to feel like a drain. Spirit invites you to 'banish' what it may be from your life for good. This is your permissions to let it go; you don't need to hold it any longer. Release it slowly and gently. This can be as simple as declaring to the Universe that you release it once and for all, or setting that boundary and taking space for yourself.
“Ring thy bell to cast them out, ring thy bell and dance about. Swirl the sounds amidst the winds, nowhere to hide, for all will ring.”
Final Words
There's a sense with this card combination that some or all of you have been struggling with relationship dynamics or career dynamics that feel uneven and perhaps unfair. There could be things left unsaid, or injustice that need to be addressed. Spirit wants you to know that it is okay to keep your distance at this time. Know that this decision doesn't have to be forever, but it may be important for now for your peace. Once you are taken care of, you can better see how you can proceed in regards to resolving the issue.
Another important message Spirit wishes to convey is to hold strong to your decisions. Do not let others sway you or tell you what you should think/do. Listen to your heart and know that this will always guide you to the light.

Pile B
PILE B
Card one: What will help you proceed on your path in the colder, darker months?
Cardinal Medicine (3)
If you chose this pile, human connection is an important theme for you this season. Fulfilling relationships all begin with the sacred self.
How can you tune into and honor what makes you unique? Spirit encourages you to find empowerment in what makes you special, so you may show up fully for yourself. This is especially important to those that tend to lose themselves with others. When you hold close that unique essence, you can maintain your sense of individuality in any friendship or partnership. You can remember what makes you lovable and beautiful.
The Cardinal symbolizes a loving and happy companionship. Their spirit animal message is to get close to those who mean a lot to you. Perhaps the deepened connection you experience this season will be with a romantic partner, a trusted friend, or a relative. This is a positive relationship where you can feel safe, uplifted, and loved.
If you are lacking personal connection, the Cardinal is a positive sign that a loving friend or partner is close at hand. Spirit invites you to send out your song, so that you may be noticed. Let what makes you special shine out to the world. Do so with an open heart and open mind, as connections can be made in the most unexpected places.
For those seeking new connection, keep in mind the Light card that started today's reading. Hope for the best outcome, and have faith in the good of others. This season could herald the beginning of a long term romance or marriage, if you open yourself to the possibility.
“They self bleeds of sacredness, an honor fit for the Gods. You are worth all the seas and all the skies and all the desires you hold inside.”
Card two: What precious thing can you keep close to provide you with faith?
Wise Men (42)
With this card, I heard the message, 'Know better, do better'. This year has nurtured a big evolution within you. You have seen truths, and it feels like there's no going back to old ways now. Hold close your personal power; this is a precious, incredible thing to have.
A big theme here is conviction, holding firm in your truth. Now more than ever, it's important that you show up for what you believe in. It feels big, like this doesn't just affect you alone. Exercising your personal power can send ripples of positive change out to the collective. Don't keep your inner wisdom to yourself right now. You never know who may be inspired by your strength.
There's a sense with the Wise Men card that your intellect is your super power. You can sense when something isn't right and have the ability to foresee helpful actions to take. Soon, it will be time for action, but not quite yet. Sort through ideas and plans. Fan that inner flame. You will have opportunities next year to speak your truths and lead others in a positive manner.
It's important that you move forward with clarity. If things feel cloudy, ground yourself and find a healthy way to clear your mind. If emotions cloud your judgment, writing can be a helpful way to release some of that energy. If this doesn't seem to help, reach out to someone that you respect for reflection and advice. They can help you sort out any tangles in your mind. Taking a walk or drive can help shift your thinking if you're stuck. Even a long, warm shower can bring clarity.
Your wisdom and personal power are going to orient you toward the light through the darker half of the year. They go hand in hand. With what you know now, you can exercise your authority and make choices that are in alignment with your truth.
“If it wasn’t for the familiar songs that echo through my spine, I would have lost what is lost and never found my purpose.”
Final Words
The combination of cards indicate that for some or all of you that chose this pile, there may be a karmic cycle with someone important to you that has played out or is currently wrapping up. It appears that you have had opportunities to see the truth of this cycle, so that you can either resolve it or release it. It feels like maybe a soul contract that has played out. The end of the year brings deep reflection and Soul searching.
Be patient with yourself as you continue to absorb your experiences and process your emotions. The lessons learned feel highly personal, and it's okay if others do not understand your reasoning or motivation. It doesn't make you wrong. Hold true to what you believe in while maintaining stability, so you're in the right frame of mind to do effective work when the time comes for it.
