Baby Aura Paintings
One of my favorite questions I’m asked is,
Do babies have auras?
The answer: Yes!
This tends to be followed up with:
Can you see the baby’s aura when it's still inside their mother?
And again, yes!
This topic is easily one of the most fascinating to me when it comes to auras.

I'm Courtney Deerborn. I paint auras; the energy of mind, body, and spirit flowing within and around us, unique to each individual. It started out of wonder and the fun of it. Through my younger years, I would see auras off and on. 12 years ago, I started studying auras and gaining a better understanding of what they're communicating. In 2020, I began offering my aura paintings as an intuitive reading through Etsy. Since then, I've shared my aura paintings through local markets and shops, psychic fairs, private parties, and here on my website.
Everything I share about auras is based in my experience and spiritual beliefs. What you read in this post comes from live sessions and e-mail distance readings.
Everyone's perception, like their aura, is unique to them. How I interpret colors might not be the same as you. That doesn't make your interpretations wrong. I share this information because I think it's fascinating.
Even if you do not read auras, we still communicate and pick up on so much from one another's energy.

Please know that I do not read on health, fertility, or trying for a baby due to the sensitivity of the subject. By client request, I can paint a baby's aura. We always do so from a lighthearted place of fun and curiosity.
Aura Painting Process
The way I preform my aura paintings is a similar process to automatic writing. I open my connection to Source or Spirit, then use my paintbrush as the channel for color, energy, psychic information, and intuitive messages to communicate with us. I’m not consciously choosing colors and painting the shapes that appear. I’m in a meditative space mentally, where I’m able to clearly receive messages and information that correspond to what appears in or around your aura. The act of painting helps me pull spirit and intuitive energy down to Earth.
Baby's Aura In The Belly
A baby’s aura is a bit different than ours, especially when in utero. From what I've experienced during intuitive sessions, the child's full energetic self, or their Soul, is coming and going as their body grows. They travel between realms or dimensions, visiting their physical vessel and returning back to that Soul place. You might refer to the other place(s) as Source, the Other Side, the Cosmos, Heaven, God, Spirit, etc.
Early on in the pregnancy, a baby's aura is no different from its mother. Baby might appear in mom’s aura as orange or pink energy, maybe as a symbolic shape, or a feeling. (I’ve shared an interesting story at the end of this post as an example!)
Nearly through the second trimester, the child's aura may start to appear white at first. The colors I've seen during this period appear ranging from lavender-pink to cool pastel silvery blue. They're always soft hues, nearly white light, more saturated when the Soul is present with the physical self.
The infant is experiencing a huge transitional period, and it takes time for them to integrate into the material plane. Any time you speak or sing to them, or even think of them, it helps them ground here to Earth. You, too, might pick up on your baby’s Soul color when their Spirit is visiting and nesting into their home.
Spirit Guides appear as orbs of light and color. Mother and child each have their own guides, but they share a few as well. These spirits help in matters of health, timing, protection, healing, support, spirituality, intuition, welcoming to the Earth plane, etc. This is always unique to the needs of the individuals.
Welcoming Baby
Once Earthside, a baby's aura starts to become uniquely its own almost immediately.
When I read a newborn’s aura, I’m tuning into their Soul’s personality. Though their Spirit still comes and goes, they’re now settling in more comfortably. Their energy is more easily expressed in the material now. You can feel their presence and consciousness as they become more and more integrated into Earth and their body.
In the early months, we usually don’t get information about the baby’s experience in their body yet, unless they’re asking for help in some way. However, depending on what their Soul wants to communicate in an aura session, an aura painting might reveal other things such as life potentials, personality traits and interests, spiritual gifts, or lessons to come in the child's life. If it’s necessary or helpful to know, the aura reading might also reveal karmic cycles and ties.
When in gestation, I have perceived a baby’s aura color as white, pastel blue, pastel lavender, or pale silver; or a combination of. Said potentials are seen within, almost like little knots of energy that glimmer in and out of focus. Spirit guides are seen outside the aura. They tend to be guides for transition and health for both mother and infant.
Once a baby is born, we start to see more of a development in the aura’s colors and movements. Potentials either unravel or dissipate. We might start to see orange, red, or yellow appear.
Orbs over the aura painting correspond to spirit guides. Depending on your beliefs, these could be angels, loved ones on the other side, passed pets, aliens, gods or goddesses, etc. who offer assistance, wisdom, and/or healing in this chapter. Some spirit guides are here to help only for a part of the story, while others stay close by for life.
As Baby Grows
Just for fun, here is an example of a young toddler's aura, so you may better see how a child’s aura develops. In their conscious awareness is still purple, bright and imaginative, still connected up to Source/Spirit. This is why some toddlers are able to share stories about last lives or see our loved ones in Spirit. They still have memories with them from the Other Side or Source.
Some energetic potentials once seen as little dots or knots within their aura have unraveled into their unique aura colors: orange and yellow.
And, new potentials have appeared out of these newly integrated colors! The child's aura starts to become as expressive as an adult’s, with its own flow and symbolic shapes appearing to represent the individual and offer messages of guidance.
Mother & Child
In the past, I've offered 'combined aura readings' at live aura painting events. This one I share with you is of a mother and her young daughter.
To the left is mom’s energy. Purple represents how her open mind and her own connection to imagination establishes a playful relationship between the pair. Mom leads the way with blue by setting an example of independence and honesty. Her daughter is intellectually engaged with yellow, looking to mom to learn and find her confidence of orange. You can see they each have their own spirit guides that appeared with messages to share, as orbs over their shoulders.
Pregnancy In An Aura Painting
A few summers back, at an outdoor market, I painted the below aura. As we wrapped things up, I felt a pull in Spirit like I couldn’t complete my client’s reading without mentioning the shape in orange.
I prefaced this information with my disclaimer: I do not read for fertility/pregnancy, especially without consent. This is just for entertainment. Always listen to your heart’s discernment. I asked if she would like me to continue or not.
When she agreed, I pointed out the shape I saw within her orange energy.
Sometimes the aura paintings are a very literal expression of what’s happening in your life. Sometimes they’re a metaphor. Sometimes they're both! Auras and energy are multidimensional. The way each energy and aura expresses itself is unique to the individual.
I could see this orange shape in my mind’s eye as a tiny barely grown new fetus with a teeny heartbeat.
I told her this might just be symbolic of being at the very beginning stages of a meaningful project or personal endeavor. There’s something you’ll be nurturing with your absolute attention and care.
I mentioned the correspondence of orange to the sacral chakra, center for creativity, joy, reproduction.
At that I said, ”I’m not saying you’re pregnant, but if you’re not trying to be pregnant yet, take extra precaution.” Like I said, I do not read for pregnancy typically, but Spirit really wanted me to say something…
That's when she revealed she had just found out she was 6 weeks along! She saw the fetus shape too, immediately as I painted it. We laughed and shared the moment of magic. I gave her my congratulations and blessings. I'm so grateful to Spirit and our Spirit Guides for facilitating that special aura painting that I will never forget!
