Do Auras Change Over Time?

Do Auras Change Over Time?

This has to be my most asked question.

Thanks to over a decade of observing and studying the aura, I can confidently say, Yes! Our auras are just as unique and ever changing as we are. This topic is fascinating because each individual can be so different! View my Aura Painting Gallery to see the variations in an in our energy.

If you’re new here, welcome! I’m Courtney, and I read auras. I utilize this intuitive skill to help myself and others understand who we are and the our individual journeys on Earth. I think of my aura readings as a way for your energy and subconscious to communicate with you!

The Aura is our energetic field, made up of our emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual states. This appears to me as a glowing cloud of color, with symbols or shapes throughout. I experience the aura through the mind’s eye, and mirror the emotions or physical feelings of the aura bearer. This is something I’ve always done through life, and began to study in 2014. You can find my Aura Frequently Asked Questions here or my library of Aura blog posts here. Learn about my personal intuitive journey here

Having observed and painted auras since 2014, I’ve come up with my own understanding of what my aura portraits mean. How I interpret them are a combination of learned knowledge, intuitive channeling, and Soul remembering. I’ve had the opportunity to read auras of all ages, thanks to my clients: All the way from an infant in the womb, to a loved one on their death bed.

A Journey Of Color

Understanding the Aura

Our Aura is dynamic, multi-dimensional, and ever shifting. We are moving through constant evolution; why would our energetic colors be any different? Colors might change based on your mood, environment, or physical well-being. Spiritual experiences and awakenings will shift the aura. And of course, big life events, milestones, or transitions can change our aura around completely.

We have a core color, sometimes two, which can be considered the “soul color” or “life path color”. I tend to perceive this placed at the foundation, the bottom of my aura portraits. View my Anatomy of an Aura Painting guide here.

We have different layers to the aura, which display themselves to me in your aura painting, depending on what your energy wants to communicate to you. These colors appear at the middle and top of the portrait, and are likely to fluctuate more often. They corresponds to themes, emotions, and ideas, giving insight into present challenges, lessons, karma, and more.

4 aura paintings of the same client over the course of a year; one reading per season. Notice how the colors remain very similar, but shift around. It all means something!

Colors In The Moment

Energy perceived at the very top of my aura portraits correspond to our thoughts in the present moment. This is the most changing, shifting within minutes or even seconds. Enthusiasm and joy appear as brightness, in hues such as orange or yellow. Calm and peace appear as soft hues in blue or green. Feelings of love and belonging appear in pink. A desire for self expression can appear as bright blue. An aura reader can sit and watch (with consent) a client’s mind through color as it processes, imagines, and learns.

Why The Aura Changes

The Aura Timeline: Integrating Wisdom & Healing

Something myself and my client’s have noticed is how the portrait shifts in a pattern over a long period of time.

I perceive the energy of the very present moment at the top of the aura. Long term themes flow across through the middle. Core foundational Soul traits are revealed the very bottom of the aura painting.

My understanding is that as we take in the present, this influences our future and what lessons or themes will be welcomed in. Much of this happens at the subconscious level. As these experiences and ideas incorporate into our energy, we see the colors stick around, slowly moving down through the aura.

Over time, lessons and themes become integrated, which can potentially influence our foundational color(s). Typically the foundational color is consistent, remaining a similar hue each painting, or flipping between one or two colors depending on the season. An entirely new foundational color can indicate a change in life path or an integrated awakening. This reveals growth and/or healing. Every now and then, I’ve seen an aura “graduate” onto a higher frequency color, revealing deep Soul growth.

Illness or Imbalance

I have seen an aura shift completely for a day or a week due to being under the weather. The colors might become muddied or grayed. There might be little definition between colors, so they all blend together into a mess. An off shade of green can represent a cold or flu. Olive tones may indicate an inner battle with addiction or mental health. Off shades of yellow tend to correspond to digestive issues, such as malabsorption or IBS.

What I have observed is that when the individual recovers, their auric colors most often pick up where they left off. The foundation color returns, along with any long term theme colors.

Please note that I do not do health readings. However there are times when your painting might indicate a corresponding physical imbalance, which your energy is asking you to be aware of.

Spiritual Growth & Awakening

My aura readings do have a spiritual component by nature, being that the aura is partially of Spirit. (There are layers to the aura which exist on other planes of reality.) As you become more aligned with your authenticity of the Soul, the aura shifts into certain hues, such as teal, green, blue, purple, indigo, or gold.

Colors can also become more clear and luminescent. You may display many colors or a rainbow. Higher layers of the aura existing on higher planes of reality become activated. I often see pastel blue, indigo, or purple on individuals who are in a recent awakening period. I have observed shimmering hues of gold, silver, lavender, or magenta on individuals who are aligned with the spiritual gifts or Soul mission. This can open you to new psychic abilities and higher channels of wisdom.

Orbs Beyond The Aura

In my aura portraits, balls of light painted outside of the individual’s aura boundaries correspond to Spirit Guides (left side) or Opportunities (right side). The appearance of orbs are entirely dependent on what the person is going through at the time of their reading.

Some guides show up to confirm things for you about your reading. Certain energies, spirits, or other such entities might be with you for a chapter of life, while others will stay by our sides or return time and time again. The more you tune in or have your aura read by a professional, the more aware you become of who your Spirit Guides are.

Opportunity portals are similar. Some might have limited timelines, where you might miss the chance to enter this portal if you do not strike while the moment is here. Other times, these opportunities appear in cycles. You may find yourself in a similar place time and time again, as the Universe attempts to usher you past the threshold of what was into new possibility.

Something Else To Consider

Carrying What Isn’t Ours

Auras don’t have solid boundaries. Just like a cell, they’re porous in areas, allowing energy to enter or exit. This is how we communicate with our surroundings subconsciously.

I have seen entire auras shift and change momentarily because the client took on energy from outside of themselves. Our energy absorbs and reflects what we experience. Sometimes, you might notice you’re feeling a bit “off”, usually because you’re carrying something that doesn’t belong to you! (This is why I speak so highly of energetic cleansing and protection). If you feel you tend to take on energies that aren’t your own, you might want to incorporate energy clearing and boundary setting to your daily routine.

There might be a moment where a part of the reading doesn’t necessarily resonate at a personal level, but relates to an individual in the client’s life.

I have observed clients pick up environmental energy. When we visit somewhere with a strong emotional charge, like a historical site, we’re prone to pick some of that energy up.

There have been times that I’ve witnessed the energy of a friend, loved one, or even a pet within a client’s aura. At times, we might take on someone else’s emotions, stresses, or troubles. This can happen out of compassion and support.

Trends can also be observed when I batch readings with multiple clients around the same time. There is always a collective frequency we pick up on, depending on our sensitivity to certain topics, ideas, or emotions. Big world events, climate disasters, or even exciting moments in the collective might show up in an aura portrait. I have observed collective joys and stresses among my readings.
