Aura Features & Shapes

Aura Features & Shapes

Energy can be bright or dim, expansive and swirling, or stagnant and close to the body. There can be shapes or patterns within the colors that hold meaning and guidance for the individual. What an aura is doing in the present moment reveals a lot about what a person is thinking, feeling, and perhaps in need of.

Colors, shapes, and features in an aura can come or go, or be core traits of the individual. The location of a color or shape holds meaning, as well. Foundational colors at the bottom can relate to your soul or core essence. Colors moving through the middle can relate to lessons, themes, and emotional messages. Colors around and about the head can relate to present thoughts and spiritual insights.

Someone who is clairvoyant (psychic sight) or claircognizant (psychic knowing) is able to pick up on different flows and densities within an individual's aura. That's where I come in! As a professional aura painter, I have been lucky to sit at my table with many people from all walks of life. The following guide is based on 11 years of aura reading and research, as well as 5 years of painting auras for clients.

Keep in mind that I give basic descriptions here for the sake of providing a meaning which will resonate with the majority. During a one on one session, I intuit personalized meanings and deeper messages for you based on your painting, as well as what is happening in your life and what you need to hear most at the time of your reading.

Animal

Sometimes in my aura paintings, an animal shape will appear. This at times is a person’s pet or a meaningful spirit animal connection. Other times, the animal’s wisdom is shared with the individual.

Arch

Can indicate the formation of an intention, idea, or plan coming into your mental space. Or, it can be a thought or feeling radiating from your aura.
Sometimes, it indicates energy blanketing over you from the ether.

Arrow

Can show momentum, or lack thereof, with themes that correspond to the colors present.

Astrology Symbol

Blur/same as Vibration

Tensions of some sort. Could be anxiety, muscle tightness/pain, overthinking, and/or hyperactivity. Often indicates over-activity in a certain chakra. Look to the other present colors for a clearer picture of the underlying cause.

Column

Integration, when all the way from top to bottom indicates flow from earth up to cosmos and back down, creating a loop of high frequency, usually corresponds to gray, crystal, pink, violet, sparkling gold an silver auras.

Dark Spots

When there is a noticeably darker area in an aura, this helps point to energy imbalance or blockages. This information empowers you to take control and heal. Look to the chakras of corresponding colors to gain further insight.

Dullness

It can be either the entire aura or one color which appears with a grayness or dulled light. This is often a sign of illness or pain. It can indicate blockage in the chakra of corresponding color.

Expansive Glow

Extroverted, open. People can easily pick up on the vibes/energy of this individual. They have strong feelings about things. Sometimes they may overshare or come off as intimidating. Their energy might be expansive because they reach out far and wide to help others, at times to their own detriment. At times, an expansive aura can indicate a tendency to feed off of other's energy. Look to colors for further insight.
(Not the same as an oversized aura).

Flickering

When the entire aura seems to flicker in its quality of light, the individual may be fighting something, such as an illness or inner battle. Things feel intense. The person may have difficulty dealing with stress or anger. They would find it helpful to ground and find ways to self-soothe.
When one color or area of the aura is flickering, it can indicate an imbalance in the corresponding chakra of the color.

Geometric Pattern

Shapes like mandalas, sacred geometry, grids, or other symbolic patterns can appear when the individual is aligned with their higher purpose. The symbol can offer deeper insight into their calling and Soul blueprints. May provide a psychic upgrade or Divine guidance.

Glow Remains Close To Body

A sign of introversion. They’re ruled by their inner world, and may prefer their own company. A close aura however can be caused by fear, limiting beliefs, or insecurities. This person may be holding back or boxing themselves in. If this aura feature is left to go on for too long, it can limit or shut down healthy flow of energy through the aura and chakras.

Holes

Our aura can become weakened and damaged by stress, pain, trauma, loss, grief, abuse, illness, burnout, etc. When left to go on for too long, holes can form in the auric barrier, causing energetic leaks that lead to fatigue.

Layered

This refers to when the colors enclose upon one another, like a Russian doll. Layered auras have many emotions and can experience mood swings or feelings that feel intense. Moving through their feelings can feel like peeling an onion. They require time with each task, situation, goal, or emotion to understand it and move on to the next. Sometimes, this can come across as being aloof or uncaring. They're more likely to act on impulse. People might perceive them as mysterious. If the colors do not blend, it indicates a tendency to compartmentalize that can become unhealthy.

Muddiness

The aura or a certain color will appear with a brown-grayness. This can indicate an imbalance caused by physical, mental, and/or emotional illness. When this color appears, reach out for support or help, depending on what is needed. Give yourself extra grace and self care.

Neon Glow

An indicator of good health. Can show a strong level of inspiration and passion. The colors with this glow give further insight. The energy is amplified and excited.

Orb

A concentration of energy. When outside of the aura, it often indicates the presence of an Angel, Spirit Guide, or a loved one in Spirit. Sometimes, the orb can indicate an open doorway of opportunity or potential. When within the aura, it is a bubble of energy created by the individual, which they may send out into the world.

Oversized

A sign of being too open to the world. This can leave the aura bearer too vulnerable to outside access. Can easily lose touch with self. This person may be too giving or too trusting. Can sometimes indicate an intent to control others.
Return to menu

Pentagon

Integration of the 5 elements (earth, air, fire, water, ether). Connected to the power of nature. Protected by the Divine.

Scribbles

Scattered thoughts; often relates to anxiety, but not always. Can indicate procrastination, stuck-ness, and/or executive dysfunction. Often times relates to unacknowledged or unresolved trauma.

Sparkly

Someone who's feeling very joyful and confident. They may be in the spotlight or just be really feeling themselves. They're feeling driven, and will do whatever it takes to reach their goals.
At other times, sparkles are related to energies or spirits from a higher source. They usually come in as white, pink, purple, blue, silver, or gold when sparkly.

Spikes

Someone who feels defensive or threatened. Usually stems from mistreatment or abuse.

Square

A symbol of stability. It can indicate that the aura bearer is focused on their foundations (career, home, self). They are looking after and protecting what’s theirs. A strong intake or discharge of energy. This feature is helpful for finding the root of energy drain and fatigue. Can be a sign of your energy being taken from someone, or a sign of you giving too much of yourself away.

Triangle

Can indicate a focus or formed intention, corresponding to the color. This person may be manifesting. Upright corresponds to masculine energy, action, force, momentum. Inverted triangles correspond to feminine energy, receptivity, intuition, the divine womb.
Or, a triangle can indicate a harmonizing of mind, body, spirit.

Vibration/same as blur

Tensions of some sort. Could be anxiety, muscle tightness/pain, overthinking, and/or hyperactivity. Often indicates over-activity in a certain chakra.

Wings

Different types have been observed in my aura paintings. They represent freedom, expansion, and ascension. A new perspective is available. Butterfly wings are a message of transformation. Bird or Angel wings are a message of protection. Spiritual messages are making their way to the aura bearer. The individual is stepping into a higher purpose.
