Orange Aura Meanings & Self Care
Welcome! Here you will find all that you need to know about the orange aura. Maybe you identify as an orange, or love someone who is orange. Enjoy learning about the ins and outs of the orange aura bearer!
These color meanings are based on my experience as an intuitive aura reader and my perception in this lifetime. My meanings might not always line up with your own interpretation, and that’s the fun of it! Have an open mind and open heart when reading the provided meanings.
Keep in mind that the interpretations here are more general. It’s important to consider the shades and hues of the color, other colors present, and how they all might work together or clash with one another. This is why an interpretation by a professional aura reader will tell you much more, with amazing accuracy, than you can find below. My aura readings offer a personalized meaning of your colors based on what is happening in your life and what you need to hear at the time of your aura painting. You can book an e-mail aura reading with me here, or find me at a local event around Maine and New Hampshire.

Consider Color Location
In my aura paintings, the location of the aura color gives detailed insight. Even shapes within a color can offer information.
Colors at the very bottom are your core essence and Soul traits shining through, assisting or guiding you. Tendencies and personality traits show up here. The foundational energies are unwavering and least likely to shift or change, but it can be done with patience and care.
Colors banded through the center are long term themes coming and going. They won’t always correlate to personality, but instead to lessons, challenges, missions, personal growth, or paths you’re moving on.
Colors at the very top are present energies, either being used by you (left side) or expressed by you (right side). This will give insight into tendencies and behaviors you might not have realized are there. Colors here show what you’re thinking or feeling right now. Personality traits are here, but these are more able to shift, change, or adapt than the foundational colors.

An Imbalanced Orange Aura
An imbalance is indicated by discoloring of the orange dominant energy that makes it look darkened, muddy, or black. This can also occur in a secondary color, which would indicate a more temporary imbalance.
When imbalanced, the orange aura's life can start to feel mundane. They may have trouble seeing what's good around them and what's good about being alive. They might lost touch with themselves and what makes them a joy to be around. They can become entirely cut off from their creative side. They may lack play and joyful moments in their day. They may experience feelings of lack, either within themselves or around them in their lives. They may even start to feel undeserving of joy.
Imbalances can be expressed as frustration, impatience, and acting without thinking. The orange aura may have become emotionally numb, or swing the other side and experience mood swings with high highs and low lows. They may take on negative or annhialistic ways of thinking. They may start keeping themselves from what they truly want. They can experience comparison syndrome, struggling to feel "good enough" as they are. They may have harsh judgements of themselves. They can become completely resistant to change. They can become hypersexual or lose complete interest in sex. They may feel disconnected from their sexual expression.
If you have experienced a chronic imbalance, continue on to the next section about shadows, or unconscious aspects, which may be the root of this imbalance. This gives insight to guide you in healing
Shadows of Orange
The shadow is an unconscious element, something such as an emotional trigger. Often an imbalance is rooted in our shadow, which unless acknowledged and integrated, can return. We may try to avoid or deny our shadow, but it is still there. The shadow often has unconscious influence over our emotions and decisions. It can be a cause for chronic energy imbalance. It’s empowering to shine a light on this piece of you, when you’re ready, in order to move forward or find healing.
Note that shadows may not always appear in an aura painting. Additionally, having an orange aura does not automatically mean that you carry every shadow aspect listed below. This is meant to help guide you in your healing if you feel something here resonates with you.
A common shadow that might come up for the orange aura involves restricting or forbidding themselves from certain joys or pleasures of life. They may feel unworthy or experience guilty when they feel pleasure. Sometimes this stems from feeling unworthy, or sometimes from the fear that things will go badly if you let yourself be immersed in the joys. It's a common shadow based in religious trauma.
Another common shadow for the orange that I've witnessed involves creativity. The orange aura may feel completely disconnected of blocked from this part of themselves. They may be unwilling to tap in to their creative inspiration. They may have imposed judgements upon themselves, or perhaps in the past been teased or bullied for their creative expression. They claim they're "not creative" or "bad at art". (Please know we are inherently creative as human beings and art is subjective).
The next shadow to talk about involves the orange aura being unwilling to explore their emotions or to be vulnerable. They might become overemotional, because they're not in sync with what they feel. Their reactions may not match the situation. They may become manipulative at times in order to protect their emotions or control the emotions of another.
If the orange aura notices they seem to struggle in matters of love, they might have a shadow which causes them to deny themselves the connections or romantic relationships they truly want or deserve. They may stay with partners who are not thoughtful. This shadow could come out as codependency.
Finally, an orange might have a shadow that causes them to be out of flow with the world around them, and at times even with themselves. They may feel like they're always stuck in an uphill climb. This tends to be rooted in a resistance to change. They may fight to stay in what's familiar. They may be unwilling to change themselves.
Orange Aura Healing
If the aura has become cloudy, muddy, contains black or olive green splotches or turbulent energy, etc. from imbalance or a shadow, there are plenty of steps you can take to find balance or healing. Depending on your situation, some things may work better than others.
